1.    Carefully read,  in our text, Readings for Writers, this week's  narrative  readings
                and essays found in Assignments  . Also, read two online narrative stories:   Removal of the Cherokees
                and   The Sick Child

2  . Visit the following link:   Style: Narrative Writing
3    Read the information carefully and take notes of  important points.
4 .  Create a 5-6 paragraph Narration , following the class Guidelines for Writing Online Papers by
                choosing one  of the below  topics.  Submit to me pahutchi@alpha.delta.edu  by the date listed
                in the Class Assignments Section.

                Topic #1--"I Did Something That I Knew I Shouldn't Do" Like Orwell, we have
                all been involved in something we just knew at the time that we should not do.
                Relate such an event following the criteria discussed in  Style: Narrative Writing

                Topic #2--"A Special Christmas"  Write about a particularly favorite, or horrible,
                Christmas memory that you have.  Like Gregory, certain events are remembered
                because of their importance or sense of discovery we realized.  Relate such an event
                following the criteria discussed in   Style: Narrative Writing
5.   In the Classroom Discussion Board area,  under the appropriate thread, discuss
                what key elements of narration do the two  Native American  Indian stories contain?
                Please be sure to be specific, i.e. comment on the pacing, viewpoint, etc. and provide
                examples.   Did the authors use  the key elements well, and if not, can you speculate as to why?
