What are the breed's health problems?

Cavaliers are a remarkably healthy breed, overall;  however, mitral valve disease, hip, patella, and hereditary eye problems are all concerns in this breed.  Testing of the dam and sire should be performed before breeding.  See Cavalier Health Information.

Are Cavaliers difficult to train?

Cavaliers respond readily to praise and food, and therefore, learn very quickly.  They also naturally try very hard to please.  No harsh training methods should be used as food and praise work wonderfully well for this breed.
