1.
Carefully
read,
in our text, Readings for Writers, this week's cause and effect
readings and essays found in Assignments.
2.
Visit the following link: Cause
and Effect
3.
Read
the information carefully and take notes of important points.
4.
Think carefully about the three types of cause and effect:
necessary, contributory,
and sufficient. Choose a topic that contains only a sufficientcause
and effect. This
will be the topic for your final paper. You will then
develop a paper that will be 11-15
paragraphs long, developed according to Guidelines
for Writing Online Papers.
This paper will need 10 facts, quotes, or statistics to support your cause
and effect.
They may be obtained from newspapers, magazines, books, reputable
online sources, etc.
You must then use work cited to cite your source after usage of each quote,
fact, or
statistics. See MLA
Page Format Guide and More
Works Cited and Works Cited Page
for works cited format. Submit to me pahutchi@alpha.delta.edu
by
the date listed in the
Class Assignments Section (in December). This is your final paper, a mini-research
paper, and is
worth a total of 50 points..
5.
In the Classroom
Discussion message board area, post under the appropriate thread,
a thesis statement which states the sufficient cause and effect you
have chosen. If
classmates see that it is
not a sufficient cause
and effect, they should indicate that
by responding to the post. Classmates should offer information, etc.
