1.        Read this week's Chapter 7 and pgs.731-759  in  Technical Communication carefully.

3.         Read the information carefully and take notes.

 4.        Your writing assignment is to research a topic for  a proposal paper that we will be doing soon in here.
                         In the paper, you will want to propose, formally suggest, to DO something--i.e. start a business, remodel
                         your porch, change machines, a process, etc. at work.  Begin researching the topic; then, write a thesis
                         statement (such as" Because of inadequate speed and processing time on our current computers, I propose
                         that the company purchase  two new computers for my department."). Follow the thesis statement with
                        one example  of your research information obtained from the three different levels of depth:  surface/popular
                         media, trade and  business sources, and specialized literature. Therefore, you will finish by having a thesis
                         statement of your proposal, followed by three pieces of information obtained from the different levels. When
                         you  have finished this, proceed to the below #5.

    5.      In the Discussion Board section, under the appropriate thread (posted question with a linked list of
                          responses),  post your answer  to the question below  and also, be sure to respond twice to other classmates'
                          posts.

                         QUESTION: What will be the subject of your proposal and what information from the three different
                          levels have you already obtained?  Classmates comment on the soundness of the thesis and
                          quality,relevance, etc. of  the information presented.  You are inserting your writing assignment on the
                         Discussion Board this week rather than sending it to me. Please, post early enough for comments.
