3.  Read the information carefully, and take notes of important points.

4.        Think carefully about the highlights of the text and lecture. Carefully examine
             both types of writing and their key elements.
5.    SPRING/SUMMER STUDENTS DO NOT COMPLETE!!!!!

       In the Classroom Discussion Board area, under the appropriate thread, discuss
             comparison and contrast writing by doing the following:

• Choose a topic that is suitable for comparison and contrast (two of some category)
• Create a thesis statement which states the basis, or points, that you would use to compare and contrast the two i.e.two restaurants compared and contrasted on price, decor, and service
• Place an example of each point of comparison and contrast under the point i.e. price:  McDonald's #4.95 chicken strips combo meal vs. $6.85 Long John Silver's chicken strip combo, etc.
