'Star Gazer' Host Jack Horkheimer Dies

Jack Horkheimer, host of public television's Star Gazer segments, died Friday of a respiratory ailment, the Miami Herald reports. He was 72 years old.

Restored to Glory: Classic Automobiles, Collectors & Their Stories is the next documentary from Delta College's Q-TV. Coming in December, the program will focus on the personal stories of people who collect and restore classic cars in Michigan.

Q-TV Receives Awards for Local Specials

Delta College's Q-TV has received two national Telly awards this summer for special programs produced in the last year. The programs Breaking New Ground: Women of the Saginaw Valley and Gift of Music: From Our Family to Yours both received Telly Bronze Awards.

We look at the positives and pitfalls of dating after 50, including how to avoid becoming one of the increasing number of seniors to contract a sexually-trasmitted disease. We also look at the benefits of pet ownership and what to look for when adopting a pet, as well as Delta College's "50+ Health for Life Expo," which was sponsored by all four area hospitals.

Tanya Medina: 1970-2010

On June 9, Somos Hispanos host Tanya Medina lost her battle with pancreatic cancer. She had a great love of life, took on challenges with the heart of a warrior, and worked hard to be successful in her many roles, especially as a mother, businesswoman, and college student. She will be missed.
